There is always a sense of release that overcomes us every time we reach our goals. We’ve all experienced this, when we are working hard to reach something, we put so much energy, time, effort and after we reach it. We somehow don’t have the same amount of commitment as we did before.
This phenomena is very much a big and real thing within the fitness lifestyle. How many times have you seen ladies who work hard at the gym and on their diet with the aim to losing a certain amount of weight, only for them to achieve that and then some how they turn into a completely different person whose level of commitment is far from what you’ve seen before. They basically got what they wanted now they feel they shouldn’t push themselves anymore.
This is not the case with our feature this week, her name is Christelle Mutombo, and 34 years young lady who has achieved the body she wanted but is still actively working on her body. Why you may ask? Well because she has fallen involve with her body, commitment to herself, and the peace of mind it gives her.
She is proud to say her health is precious. She knows she getting older and the older she gets the slower and harder things become and she doesn’t want to struggle like that so she maintains her body so it can serve well in her later years, in her own words “I want to be healthy, I will be 35 years old soon and he older you get, the slower and harder everything is, I want to be able to easily run after my kids and go hiking without breaking a sweat.”

She gives the credit to her being able to maintain her body to consistency, discipline, clean eating, and a good training plan.
She understands one of the most important rules about working on and keeping the body you want and that rule is balance, in her own words “I have made sure that everything is balanced and does not feel like a stressful chore... I eat clean but don’t deprive myself and rest when I need and skip the gym when I feel like hanging in or out sometimes“
Another key fundamental to her body maintenance success is that she believes that it needs to be a lifestyle, when it’s a lifestyle it becomes part of you and ultimately a part of your life and not just a small part of your life because you want to reach a specific goal around a specific time in your life.

Chris has taught and we hope has taught you as well that you need to keep going. Just because your fitness journey ends at a specific weight goal it doesn’t mean you should stop there. Aim to keep your body where you want it to be, challenge yourself often and don’t ever stop pushing yourself, one you will thank yourself of consistency investing into your body and health.
